“Why do I always paint woman? Because woman is a kind of symbol which, including some confusion, something cannot be told. I am the woman in each painting. I know that what the woman’s world is like. For me, man is another world.”
Zhang Bin
born in 1983.
Graduated and got BFA from Xu Beihong School of Arts, Renmin University of China.
I like remember the old time, especially my childhood. Now I start to remember…
I am fancy to remember the old thing. I hang on grandmothers’ depigmented colors Cheong Sam’s dresses to the wall. Anytime I see it, is like the dream behind the window. I also grew up with cartoons, pop-music.
The Past for me is a beautiful shadow. When I want to touch it becomes to be untouchable and miserable until you falling love with it. I only can use my brush to feel the old time that I can imagine. It just appears;
The Past is something you don’t really know;
The Past is the grandmother depigmented colors Cheong Sam’s dresses;
The Past is one by one secret you don’t know, the past is the beauty and desolation you cannot ignore.”
